Today, around 11 a.m EST., a lot of people I work with started reporting issues with Microsoft services.
Microsoft said everything was fine, but I know cloud SaaS. It’s usually just a matter of time before the outage is officially acknowledged. First, they investigate. Then, they try to fix it quietly. If they can’t, it finally gets reported.
Now it’s 3 p.m EST., and the services are still down.
I love SaaS applications, but I also hate them. They make being a system administrator much easier—until the tools you depend on go down, and there’s absolutely nothing you can do to fix them. You just sit there, refresh the service-status page, and wait.
Still, I guess it’s better than the old days, when everything was hosted locally and I had to fix it myself.
LMAO.
